Project Overview

This expansion project is located in Ulsan Petrochemical Industrial Complex, South Korea. The seamless pipes serve as medium-temperature & medium-pressure process pipelines for chemical fluid transportation. The Korean petrochemical industry follows strict KS standards with high requirements on material purity, impact toughness, weldability and corrosion resistance. After sample testing, technical evaluation and factory audit, Pengyuan Steel was selected as the designated supplier of process seamless steel pipes.

Project Challenges

1. Pipes carry various chemical fluids under fluctuating temperatures, requiring stable temperature resistance and stress corrosion resistance;

2. Dense plant layout requires massive prefabricated welding. Precise dimensional tolerance and flat end surface are critical for on-site assembly;

3. Products must meet Korean KS standards. All mill test reports and NDT documents need Korean & English bilingual versions;

4. Phased commissioning requires balanced batch delivery to match prefabrication schedule.

Project Result

All process steel pipes arrived at Ulsan Port on schedule and successfully passed joint acceptance. The petrochemical plant finished commissioning and went into formal operation.
